Possible Causes
Clogged condensate drain line, Misaligned indoor unit causing poor drainage, Cracked drain pan, Disconnected drain hose on Toshiba wall unit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the unit and unplug or switch off the breaker. Be prepared for water spillage.
- Step 1 – Check drain hose outside: Locate the drain hose outlet and ensure it is not blocked or submerged in water.
- Step 2 – Clear blockage: Use a wet/dry vacuum on the drain outlet to suck out sludge and debris. You may see dirty water and algae.
- Step 3 – Inspect indoor drain pan: Remove the front cover and filters. Shine a light into the drain pan to check for standing water and dirt. Clean with a soft brush and mild detergent.
- Step 4 – Verify unit level: Use a spirit level to ensure the indoor unit is slightly tilted toward the drain side. Adjust mounting plate if necessary.
- Step 5 – Check drain hose connection: Confirm the drain hose is firmly attached to the indoor drain spigot and not kinked.
