Possible Causes

Failed DC indoor fan motor, Loose fan motor connector at indoor PCB, Obstructed blower wheel, Faulty indoor PCB fan driver circuit

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off the indoor unit breaker and wait for capacitors to discharge before touching the control box.

  • Check for obstructions: Remove the front cover and inspect the blower wheel for foreign objects (plastic, insulation, wiring). Remove any obstructions.
  • Spin test: With power off, spin the blower wheel by hand. It should rotate freely without grinding. If stiff, the motor bearings may be failing.
  • Inspect wiring: Locate the multi-pin connector from the indoor fan motor to the PCB. Reseat it firmly and check for damaged wires.
  • Test operation: Restore power and run the fan-only mode. If the fan does not start or E6 reappears, the motor is likely defective.
  • Replace motor if needed: Order the correct Tosot indoor DC fan motor for your model and replace it, transferring the blower wheel if required.
