How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the outdoor disconnect.
- Locate defrost sensor: On heat pump models, the defrost sensor is attached to the outdoor coil or piping.
- Verify placement: Ensure the sensor is in the factory-specified location and firmly attached.
- Inspect wiring: Check for damage and reseat the connector on the outdoor PCB.
- Replace sensor: If F5 remains, replace the defrost/coil sensor with the Tosot-specified part.
