• Check line of sight: Ensure there is a clear path between the remote and the indoor unit’s IR receiver window.
• Test remote: Point the remote at a smartphone camera; pressing buttons should show a flashing light on the camera screen. No flash indicates a bad remote.
• Clean receiver window: Wipe dust from the front panel where the receiver is located.

When to call a technician: If the remote works but the unit does not respond, the IR receiver on the indoor PCB may need replacement.
