Possible Causes
Blocked condensate drain line, Indoor unit not level, Cracked drain pan, Excessive coil icing and melt-off
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power to avoid electrical hazards from water.
Steps to try:
- Check unit level: Use a spirit level to ensure the indoor unit is slightly tilted toward the drain side.
- Clear drain line: Use a wet/dry vacuum at the drain outlet outside to suck out sludge and algae.
- Clean drain pan: Remove the front cover and gently clean the pan under the coil.
- Address icing: If the coil is icing, clean filters and coils and ensure adequate airflow.
When to call a technician: If leakage persists, the drain pan may be cracked or mis-installed and may need professional repair.
