E7 error, indoor unit louver does not move or is stuck in one position
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Failed louver stepper motor, Broken louver linkage, Obstruction preventing louver movement, Loose or damaged louver motor wiring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power before working on the indoor unit’s front panel and louvers.
- Check for obstruction: Gently move the louvers by hand (do not force). Remove any foreign objects or heavy dust buildup.
- Inspect linkage: Open the front panel and look at the plastic arms connecting the motor to the louvers. Replace any broken arms.
- Access motor: Remove the right‑side cover to access the louver motor. Check the connector to the indoor PCB and reseat it.
- Test movement: Restore power and use the remote to adjust louver swing. If the motor does not respond or makes grinding noises, it is likely defective.
- Replace motor: Isolate power again, remove the mounting screws, and install a new louver stepper motor. Reconnect the linkage and wiring.
- Final check: Power up and verify smooth louver operation and that E7 is cleared.
