Possible Causes
Failed DC indoor fan motor, Faulty Hall sensor inside fan motor, Loose fan motor connector on indoor PCB, Indoor PCB fan drive circuit failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power at the breaker before removing the indoor unit cover.
- Access fan motor: Remove the front cover, filters, and right‑side electrical cover. Remove the lower housing to expose the cross‑flow fan and motor on the right.
- Check for obstruction: Spin the blower wheel by hand. It should rotate freely without scraping. Remove any debris or ice buildup.
- Inspect wiring: Locate the multi‑pin connector from the fan motor to the indoor PCB. Reseat the connector and check for burnt pins.
- Test operation: Restore power briefly and start the unit. If the motor hums but does not turn, or starts then stops with F7, the motor or its internal sensor is likely faulty.
- Replace motor assembly: Isolate power again. Remove the screws securing the fan motor bracket, slide out the blower wheel, and replace the indoor DC fan motor. Reinstall the blower wheel and ensure correct alignment.
- Final test: Restore power and run the unit at different fan speeds to confirm stable operation and that F7 is cleared.
