Indoor unit display works but does not respond to remote control commands

Safety: No internal work should be done with power on. For basic checks, you can leave power on but do not open covers.

• Replace batteries: Install fresh batteries in the remote and ensure correct polarity.
• Check line of sight: Make sure there is a clear path between the remote and the indoor unit’s IR receiver window.
• Test remote: Point the remote at a smartphone camera and press a button; you should see the IR LED flash on the camera screen. If not, the remote is faulty.
• Reduce interference: Avoid strong direct sunlight on the receiver window.
• Receiver board replacement: If the remote works but the unit does not respond, the IR receiver board inside the indoor unit may need replacement by a technician.
