Possible Causes
Clogged condensate drain hose with algae or dirt, Incorrect drain pipe slope, Kinked or crushed drain hose, Disconnected drain spigot on indoor unit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power before working near water and electrical parts.
- Check drain outlet: Locate the drain hose outlet outside. Ensure it is not blocked by dirt, insects, or plants.
- Vacuum the line: Use a wet/dry vacuum on the outlet to remove sludge and blockages from the hose.
- Inspect indoor drain pan: Open the indoor front panel and lower cover to access the drain pan. Clean out slime, mold, and debris with a cloth and mild detergent.
- Verify slope: Ensure the drain hose slopes continuously downward from the indoor unit to the outlet with no upward loops.
- Test drainage: Pour a small amount of water into the drain pan and confirm it flows freely out of the drain.
