Excessive water dripping or spraying from the back of a window or through-the-wall unit outdoors.

Safety: Turn off and unplug the unit before accessing the outdoor section.

Steps:

• Check weep holes: Inspect the bottom of the outdoor pan for drain/weep holes. Clear any debris so excess water can drain.
• Inspect slinger ring: Many Whirlpool units use a slinger ring on the condenser fan blade to pick up water and throw it onto the coil. Ensure the fan blade is intact and correctly positioned.
• Normal operation: Some dripping outdoors is normal, especially in humid conditions. Only address it if it is excessive or causing damage.
