Possible Causes

Failed heating temperature sensor, Blocked airflow in heat mode, Tripped high‑limit thermostat, Faulty main PCB heat control

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the unit. Heating components can be very hot; allow to cool.

  • Check filters and airflow: Clean the air filter and ensure intake and discharge vents are not blocked.
  • Inspect heating sensor: On heat pump models, the same sensors used for cooling monitor heating. On electric‑heat models, locate the sensor or thermostat near the heater element.
  • Reset high‑limit (if manual): Some units have a manual reset thermostat on the heater assembly. Press the reset button if present.
  • Test sensor/thermostat: Use a multimeter to check continuity or resistance. Replace the heating temperature sensor or high‑limit thermostat if faulty.
  • Board check: If H1 persists with good airflow and new sensor, the main control PCB may need replacement.
