Possible Causes
Internal condensate tray full, Blocked internal drain channel, Stuck float or water level switch, Kinked or improperly installed gravity drain hose
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before draining water or removing panels.
- Drain water: Move the unit to a location where water can be safely drained. Remove the lower drain plug and allow all water to drain into a pan. Tilt the unit slightly backward if needed to fully empty the tray.
- Check gravity drain setup: If using the continuous drain port, ensure the hose slopes downward all the way to the drain and is not submerged or blocked.
- Clean drain channel: Remove the rear panel to access the condensate tray and drain channel. Use a small brush and warm water to remove slime, mold, or mineral deposits.
- Inspect float switch: Locate the float or water level sensor. Verify that it moves freely and is not stuck in the "full" position. Clean any debris around it.
- Switch test (advanced): Disconnect the float switch and test with a multimeter while moving the float. Replace the water level switch if it does not change state correctly.
- Reassemble and test: After cleaning and verifying the float, reassemble, plug in, and run the unit. P1 should clear once the tray is empty and the switch is working.
