Possible Causes

Blown internal fuse on main PCB, Faulty power cord, Tripped circuit breaker, Failed main control board power supply

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Before opening the unit, unplug it. If breakers trip repeatedly, stop and consult an electrician or technician.

  • Check outlet and breaker: Test the outlet with another device. Reset any tripped breakers or GFCI outlets.
  • Inspect power cord: Look for cuts, burns, or kinks. If damaged, replace the power cord assembly with the correct Whynter part.
  • Internal fuse: Remove the control panel cover and locate the fuse on the main PCB (if present). Test with a multimeter and replace with the same type and rating if blown. A repeatedly blowing fuse indicates a deeper fault.
  • Board inspection: Look for burnt components or cracked solder joints on the main control PCB. If the board shows damage or the unit remains dead with a good fuse and cord, replace the main PCB.
