Unit frequently turns on and off (short cycling) without reaching the set temperature.

Safety: Unplug before moving sensors or opening panels.

• Check sizing: Confirm the BTU rating is appropriate for the room. An oversized unit will short cycle.
• Sensor placement: Locate the ambient sensor and ensure it is not directly in the cold air stream. Reposition slightly toward the return air path if necessary.
• Clean filter and coils: Ensure good airflow so the sensor reads average room temperature.
• Board replacement: If short cycling persists with correct sizing and sensor placement, the main control PCB may have improper hysteresis and may need replacement.
