Possible Causes
Aging or failed LED display module, Loose display connector, Low voltage from main PCB, Cracked display PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance before removing the control panel.
Steps to diagnose display issues:
- Check viewing angle: Confirm that the issue is not simply due to viewing angle or bright ambient light.
- Access display board: Remove the front bezel and control panel to expose the display PCB.
- Reseat connectors: Unplug and replug the display ribbon cable or harness. Inspect for corrosion or bent pins.
- Inspect for damage: Look for cracks in the display PCB or burnt components near the backlight driver.
- Measure supply voltage: If you are qualified, measure the low-voltage supply to the display while powered (taking all safety precautions). Low voltage indicates a main board issue.
- Replace display module: If segments are permanently missing or backlight is very dim despite correct voltage, replace the display PCB / control panel assembly.
