Possible Causes
Bent internal rails, Warped basket from overheating, Debris or grease buildup on rails, Damaged drawer guide rollers
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the unit is cool and unplugged before working on the drawer mechanism.
Steps to improve drawer movement:
- Clean rails and guides: Remove the drawer and clean the side rails and bottom guides with warm soapy water. Remove any burnt food or grease.
- Inspect for warping: Place the basket and drawer on a flat surface to check for warping. Replace the basket/drawer assembly if significantly distorted.
- Check internal rails: Look inside the cavity for bent metal rails or plastic guides. Gently straighten minor bends with pliers.
- Lubrication: Do not use oil-based lubricants near the cooking area. If absolutely necessary, use a very small amount of high-temperature food-safe lubricant on metal-to-metal contact points only.
- Test fit: Reinsert the drawer and ensure smooth operation. Do not force it; forcing can damage the basket detection switch.
