Possible Causes

Misaligned basket detection microswitch, Broken basket latch tab, Faulty reed or Hall sensor for basket detection, Damaged wiring to door/basket sensor

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the appliance before inspecting internal switches or sensors.

Steps to resolve E7:

  • Check basket insertion: Remove and firmly reinsert the basket/drawer until it clicks. Ensure no food debris is blocking the latch or rails.
  • Inspect latch and tabs: Examine the basket front and side tabs that engage the internal switch. If a plastic tab is broken or worn, the basket may not actuate the switch; replace the basket/drawer assembly if necessary.
  • Access the switch/sensor: Remove the front or side panel to locate the basket detection microswitch or magnetic sensor. Verify that it is securely mounted and aligned with the basket tab or magnet.
  • Test the switch: With a multimeter in continuity mode, actuate the switch manually. It should open and close reliably. Replace the basket detection microswitch if intermittent or non-functional.
  • Check wiring: Inspect the harness from the switch to the main PCB for pinched or broken wires. Repair or replace as needed.
  • Reassemble and test: Refit panels, insert the basket, and start a short cycle to confirm that E7 is cleared.
