Possible Causes
Missing or damaged internal heat shield, Compressed or burnt insulation, Blocked ventilation, Fan not circulating air properly
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit and allow it to cool. Avoid touching hot surfaces during operation.
- Step 1 – Check placement: Ensure the fryer is not placed against walls or under cabinets, and that vents are unobstructed.
- Step 2 – Inspect vents and fan: Clean dust and grease from vents. Confirm the fan is operating normally (see fan failure entry).
- Step 3 – Open housing: Remove the outer shell to inspect internal heat shields and insulation around the cooking chamber.
- Step 4 – Look for damage: Replace any warped or missing metal heat shields. If insulation is burnt or missing, it should be replaced with high‑temperature rated material.
- Step 5 – Reassemble and test: After repairs, run the unit at a moderate temperature and periodically check the exterior. Some warmth is normal, but it should not be dangerously hot.
