Air fryer exterior gets excessively hot to the touch during use.

Safety first: Unplug the unit and allow it to cool. Avoid touching hot surfaces during operation.

• Step 1 – Check placement: Ensure the fryer is not placed against walls or under cabinets, and that vents are unobstructed.
• Step 2 – Inspect vents and fan: Clean dust and grease from vents. Confirm the fan is operating normally (see fan failure entry).
• Step 3 – Open housing: Remove the outer shell to inspect internal heat shields and insulation around the cooking chamber.
• Step 4 – Look for damage: Replace any warped or missing metal heat shields. If insulation is burnt or missing, it should be replaced with high‑temperature rated material.
• Step 5 – Reassemble and test: After repairs, run the unit at a moderate temperature and periodically check the exterior. Some warmth is normal, but it should not be dangerously hot.
