Possible Causes

Cabinet temperature sensor harness unplugged, Broken NTC sensor lead, Damaged wiring from sensor to control board, Failed main control PCB sensor input

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the Ambiano air fryer and let it cool completely before opening any panels. Never work on a hot appliance.

  • Step 1 – Power reset: Unplug the fryer for 10 minutes, then plug back in and try a short cook cycle. If E1 returns, continue.
  • Step 2 – Access the sensor: Remove the cooking basket and drawer. Turn the unit upside down and remove the bottom screws to access the internal cavity. Locate the small wired probe (NTC sensor) usually clipped near the heating element or exhaust area.
  • Step 3 – Check connections: Verify the sensor plug is firmly seated on the main control PCB. Look for loose, corroded, or burnt connectors. Reseat the connector several times.
  • Step 4 – Inspect the sensor lead: Follow the sensor wires from the probe to the board. Look for cuts, melted insulation, or broken conductors. If damaged, the sensor harness must be replaced.
  • Step 5 – Basic resistance check (for experienced DIYers): With the unit unplugged, disconnect the sensor from the board and measure resistance with a multimeter. A typical NTC will show several kΩ at room temperature. An open (infinite) reading indicates a failed sensor.
  • Step 6 – Replace faulty parts: If the sensor is open or physically damaged, replace the temperature sensor assembly. If the sensor tests good but E1 persists, the main control PCB sensor input is likely faulty and should be replaced by a qualified technician.
