Possible Causes
Temperature sensor wires shorted together, Sensor insulation melted against heater shroud, Moisture inside sensor connector, Failed main control PCB reading sensor as shorted
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the air fryer and allow it to cool fully. Do not attempt to run the unit while disassembled.
- Step 1 – Reset and dry: Unplug for 10–15 minutes. If the unit was recently cleaned with water or steam, allow several hours to dry and try again. If E2 remains, proceed.
- Step 2 – Access internal wiring: Remove the basket and drawer, then remove the bottom or rear screws (depending on model) to expose the internal wiring and control board.
- Step 3 – Inspect sensor harness: Locate the NTC sensor wires running from the heating chamber to the control PCB. Check for pinched, melted, or bare wires touching each other or the metal heater housing.
- Step 4 – Correct shorts: If insulation is damaged, separate the wires, wrap with high‑temperature electrical tape, and secure away from the heater. If the damage is extensive, replace the entire sensor harness.
- Step 5 – Check connector: Disconnect the sensor plug from the PCB and inspect for moisture or corrosion. Dry thoroughly and clean with contact cleaner if available, then reconnect firmly.
- Step 6 – Test: Reassemble the housing, plug in, and run a short test cycle. If E2 persists with a known good sensor and wiring, the main control PCB is likely defective and should be replaced.
