Possible Causes

Unresponsive Start button on touch PCB, Faulty basket detection switch not registering closed, Firmware glitch on main control PCB, Loose ribbon cable between UI and main PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect from mains before opening the control panel.

Steps to troubleshoot:

  • Confirm settings: Ensure a temperature and time are selected and the drawer is fully inserted. Some Beko models require pressing Start firmly for 1–2 seconds.
  • Check basket switch: Gently push the drawer in and out while watching the display. If the ready indicator flickers, the basket detection switch may be intermittent (see basket switch entry).
  • Clean the control panel: Wipe the touch area with a soft cloth. Grease or moisture can affect touch sensitivity.
  • Power reset: Unplug for 10 minutes, then reconnect and test again.
  • Inspect UI connections: Remove the control panel cover and reseat the ribbon cable between the touch PCB and main PCB.
  • Replace touch PCB: If only the Start button area is unresponsive while other buttons work, replace the touch control PCB.
