Possible Causes
Obstruction at back of drawer cavity, Bent drawer front or latch, Misaligned basket detection microswitch, Broken plastic actuator tab
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Steps to fix drawer closure:
- Check for obstructions: Remove the drawer and inspect the cavity for fallen food, screws, or warped plastic blocking closure.
- Inspect latch area: Examine the front of the drawer and the mating area on the body for damage or deformation.
- Check actuator tab: Ensure the plastic tab that presses the basket detection switch is intact. If broken, replace the drawer assembly or fabricate a safe repair only if it does not bypass safety.
- Adjust switch position: Slightly loosen the screws holding the microswitch and adjust its position so the drawer can fully close while still actuating the switch.
