Possible Causes

Shorted NTC temperature sensor, Melted or shorted sensor wiring, Sensor dislodged from heater housing causing incorrect readings, Main control PCB misreading sensor

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the air fryer and let it cool for at least 30 minutes. Do not touch internal metal parts while hot.

Steps to address E2:

  • Check ventilation: Ensure the air fryer is used on a flat, heat-resistant surface with at least 10 cm clearance on all sides and above. Blocked vents can cause overheating and trigger E2.
  • Inspect for grease buildup: Remove the basket and drawer. Clean the interior, especially the top area around the heater and fan guard, using a soft brush and damp cloth. Heavy grease can trap heat.
  • Access the sensor: Remove the bottom or rear cover (depending on model) to access the heater housing and NTC sensor.
  • Check sensor position: Confirm the NTC sensor is firmly attached to the heater housing or air duct. If it has fallen away, reattach it using the original clip or screw so it senses the correct temperature.
  • Test the sensor: With a multimeter, measure resistance at room temperature. A very low reading (near 0 Ω) indicates a shorted sensor. Replace with a genuine Beko NTC temperature sensor if shorted or heat-damaged.
  • Inspect wiring: Look for melted insulation or wires touching the metal heater frame. Repair or replace the wiring harness if any conductors are exposed or fused together.
  • PCB check: If the sensor and wiring are good but E2 persists, the main control PCB may be misreading the sensor and will likely need replacement.

Warning: Do not bypass or short the temperature sensor; this is a critical safety component.
