Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Immediately unplug the air fryer if you smell strong burning plastic or see smoke from the housing. Do not continue to operate until the cause is found.
Cleaning and basic check:
- Allow the unit to cool completely.
- Remove the basket and pan and clean off any heavy grease or burnt food. Run the unit empty at a low temperature to see if the smell persists.
Internal inspection:
- Open the housing and inspect all wiring near the heating element and control board.
- Look for melted insulation, darkened connectors, or scorched PCB areas.
- Tighten or replace any loose or burnt spade connectors on the heater and thermostat.
- Replace any wires with damaged insulation using high‑temperature appliance wire of the same gauge.
If the control board itself is burnt or components are cracked or bulging, replace the main control PCB. Do not attempt to use the unit until all damaged parts are replaced.
