Possible Causes
Protective oils on heating element, Residual manufacturing coatings on interior surfaces, New plastic components off‑gassing when heated
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure good ventilation (open window or use range hood) during initial burn‑in cycles.
Burn‑in procedure:
- Remove all packaging materials, stickers, and plastic films from the unit, basket, and pan.
- Wash the basket and pan with warm soapy water and dry thoroughly.
- Run the air fryer empty at 400°F for 10–15 minutes, then let it cool. Repeat once or twice if the odor persists.
If the strong chemical smell continues after several uses and cleaning, inspect for any melted plastic parts near the heater or vents and contact Bella support; continued use may not be safe.
