Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug and cool the unit before accessing the heater area.
Performance checks:
- Preheat the air fryer empty at 400°F for 5–10 minutes and observe if the interior becomes very hot. If it remains only warm, heating is inadequate.
- Compare cook times to the Bella manual; if all recipes take much longer, suspect a heating issue.
Internal inspection:
- Access the heating element assembly and inspect for discoloration, cracks, or burnt spots.
- Check the spade connectors at the heater for tightness and signs of overheating. Replace any burnt connectors and trim back damaged wire.
- Test the heater resistance with a multimeter; a significantly higher than normal resistance can indicate a failing element.
- Verify that the temperature sensor is properly mounted and not reading excessive heat from direct contact with the coil.
If the heater and wiring are sound but the unit still underheats, the control PCB may be limiting power incorrectly and should be replaced.
