Possible Causes
Open heating element coil, Burned spade connector at heater terminals, Tripped thermal fuse in series with heater, Failed heater relay on control PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the air fryer and let it cool completely. The heater area can remain hot for some time after use.
Visual inspection:
- Remove the top or rear cover to access the heating element assembly.
- Look for obvious breaks in the heater coil, burnt spots, or melted insulation near the heater terminals.
- Check the spade connectors where the wires attach to the heater. Burnt or loose connectors can cause an open circuit.
Continuity testing:
- With the unit unplugged, disconnect at least one wire from the heating element.
- Use a multimeter set to ohms to measure resistance across the heater terminals. A typical air fryer heater will show low resistance (often 10–40Ω). An open reading (OL) indicates a failed element.
- Test any inline thermal fuse or thermostat in series with the heater for continuity as well.
Repairs:
- Replace a failed heating element with a compatible Bella air fryer heating element assembly. Ensure all connections are tight and insulated.
- If the heater and thermal fuse test good but E7 persists and the heater never energizes, the heater relay or triac on the control PCB may be defective, requiring board replacement.
