E5 appears on the display and the air fryer will not start or stops mid-cycle.

Steps to resolve E5 power errors:

• 1. Check outlet and cord: Plug another appliance into the same outlet to verify proper voltage. Inspect the air fryer power cord for cuts, kinks, or burn marks. Replace the power cord if damaged.
• 2. Avoid extension cords: Plug the air fryer directly into a properly grounded wall outlet. Undersized extension cords can cause voltage drops.
• 3. Access internal power connections: With the unit unplugged, remove the rear or bottom cover. Locate the power cord entry and internal terminal block or wire nuts.
• 4. Tighten connections: Ensure all screws on the terminal block are tight and that wires are fully inserted. Look for signs of overheating or melted insulation.
• 5. Check internal fuse: Many Black+Decker air fryers include an internal line fuse on the live conductor. Test it with a multimeter for continuity. Replace only with the same amperage and type if blown.
• 6. Inspect power supply on PCB: Examine the main control PCB for burnt components in the power supply area (near where AC enters the board). Swollen capacitors or cracked resistors indicate board failure; replace the board.
