Possible Causes
Loose ribbon cable between touch panel and control board,Contaminated or damaged touch panel,Failed user interface PCB,Corroded keypad connector
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the air fryer before removing the control panel or top cover.
Steps to address keypad communication faults:
- 1. Clean the exterior: Wipe the control panel with a slightly damp cloth to remove grease or residue. Do not spray cleaner directly onto the panel.
- 2. Power reset: Unplug for 5 minutes, then reconnect and test. If E6 persists, continue.
- 3. Access the control panel: Remove screws securing the top or front fascia. Carefully lift the panel to expose the touch panel ribbon cable and main control PCB.
- 4. Reseat connectors: Gently disconnect the ribbon cable, inspect for corrosion or bent contacts, then reconnect firmly. Ensure the cable is not pinched when reassembling.
- 5. Inspect for damage: Look for cracks in the touch panel, moisture intrusion, or burnt spots on the user interface PCB. If damaged, replace the touch control panel assembly.
- 6. Replace main control PCB if needed: If a known-good panel still triggers E6, the main control PCB may have a failed interface circuit and should be replaced.
Avoid using sharp objects or excessive force on the touch panel to prevent future damage.
