E8 is displayed and the unit will not start or shuts off immediately.

Steps to resolve door/basket detection errors:

• 1. Check basket insertion: Remove the basket and drawer, then reinsert firmly until you hear or feel a click. Ensure no foil or food debris is preventing full closure.
• 2. Inspect latch and rails: Examine the basket handle, latch, and side rails for warping, cracks, or buildup. Clean rails and latch points with a damp cloth.
• 3. Locate the microswitch: With the unit unplugged, remove the side or bottom cover to access the basket/door microswitch near the front of the chassis where the basket slides in.
• 4. Test switch operation: Manually press the switch lever; you should hear a distinct click. If it feels mushy or sticks, replace the switch.
• 5. Electrical test: Disconnect the switch and test continuity with a multimeter while pressing and releasing the lever. If continuity does not change, the switch is faulty.
• 6. Check wiring: Ensure the switch wires are firmly connected to the main control PCB and not pinched by the cabinet.

Never tape or jumper the switch closed; this defeats a critical safety feature.
