Possible Causes
Faulty capacitive touch panel, Moisture ingress behind control fascia, Loose ribbon cable between UI and main board, Failed UI controller IC
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the air fryer before removing the control panel.
Basic actions:
- 1. Dry the panel: If the panel was recently cleaned or exposed to steam, wipe it dry and leave the unit unplugged for several hours to allow moisture to evaporate.
- 2. Power cycle: After drying, reconnect power and test. If E08 persists, proceed to internal checks.
Internal checks (advanced):
- 3. Access control panel: Remove screws securing the front fascia or top cover to expose the touch control PCB and ribbon cable.
- 4. Inspect ribbon cable: Ensure the flat cable between the UI board and main control board is fully seated and not damaged. Reseat both ends.
- 5. Check for corrosion: Look for signs of moisture damage or corrosion on the UI PCB. Clean light corrosion with isopropyl alcohol and a soft brush.
- 6. Replace UI board: If individual buttons or touch zones remain unresponsive and E08 continues, replace the entire control panel / UI PCB assembly.
Note: Avoid spraying cleaners directly onto the control panel in the future; apply to a cloth first.
