Possible Causes
Misaligned door latch, Failed door interlock switch, Broken door latch hook, Bent door hinge preventing full closure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before adjusting latches or accessing switches.
- Check door closure: Open and close the door firmly. Ensure no basket, tray, or accessory is preventing full closure. Remove and reseat the cooking basket or air fry rack.
- Inspect latch hook: Look at the door latch hook on the door and the strike on the cabinet. If the hook is cracked or loose, replace the latch assembly.
- Test door switch: Locate the door interlock switch inside the cabinet frame. With the unit unplugged, press the switch actuator by hand and listen for a click. Test continuity with a multimeter; it should change state when pressed.
- Adjust or replace switch: If the switch is misaligned, loosen its mounting screws and adjust so the door fully depresses it when closed. If it fails continuity tests, replace the switch.
- Check hinges: Inspect the door hinges for bending or looseness. Tighten hinge screws and replace bent hinges as needed.
Never bypass the door switch; it is a critical safety device that prevents operation with the door open.
