Possible Causes
Weak heating element, Faulty temperature sensor reading too high, Door not sealing properly, Excessive cavity heat loss due to damaged insulation
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug and cool the unit before internal inspection.
- Check door seal: Inspect the door gasket for gaps, tears, or hardened sections. Replace if it does not seal evenly around the door.
- Observe heating: With the unit reassembled, start a preheat cycle and look through the door window. The heating element should glow red within a minute or two (for visible elements).
- Test element and sensor: If preheat repeatedly fails, test the heating element resistance and the cabinet temperature sensor (NTC) as described in other entries. Replace any component out of specification.
- Check for drafts: Ensure the unit is not placed in a strong draft or directly under an exhaust hood that could pull heat away.
If the unit still cannot reach temperature after component checks, the insulation or internal cavity may be compromised and require professional service.
