Possible Causes
Loose convection fan blade, Bent fan blade contacting shroud, Loose internal screws or panels, Worn fan motor bearings
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug and cool the unit before opening. Moving parts can cause injury.
- Identify noise source: Run a brief test with the unit empty and listen carefully to locate the area of the noise (top, rear, side).
- Inspect fan assembly: Access the convection fan. Check that the blade is firmly attached to the motor shaft and not wobbling.
- Adjust shroud: If the blade is rubbing on the shroud, gently bend the shroud or reposition the motor to restore clearance.
- Tighten hardware: Check all visible screws, brackets, and panels for looseness and tighten as needed.
- Replace motor if noisy: If the noise is from inside the motor (grinding, squealing), replace the convection fan motor.
