How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug and cool the unit before inspection.
- Check ventilation: Ensure adequate clearance around the unit and that vents are not blocked.
- Inspect power cord and plug: Wiggle the cord gently at the plug and strain relief (with unit unplugged) to check for looseness. Replace the power cord if intermittent.
- Test high-limit thermostat: Locate the high-limit thermostat and test continuity at room temperature. If it opens prematurely at normal operating temperatures, replace it.
- Board inspection: Look for heat-discolored areas on the main control board. Replace the board if components are overheating or cracked.
