Safety first: Unplug the unit before touching the fan or opening the housing.

Check for debris: Remove the basket and inspect the fan area with a flashlight. Remove any loose food pieces or foil with a non-metallic tool.
Blade inspection: Access the fan from the top or rear. Check that the fan nut or screw is tight and the blade is not wobbling.
Spin test: Gently spin the fan by hand. Roughness, grinding, or side-to-side play indicates worn bearings.
Shroud clearance: Ensure the fan blades are not rubbing against the metal shroud. Carefully bend the shroud slightly if needed to restore clearance.
Replace motor: If noise persists and bearings are worn, replace the convection fan motor assembly.
