- Basket and door: Remove and firmly reinsert the basket until it clicks. Ensure the door is fully closed on oven-style models.

- Check safety switch: Access the door/basket microswitch and test continuity when the door/basket is closed. Replace if it does not close properly.
- Keypad test: If other buttons respond but Start does not, the keypad membrane may be faulty and should be replaced.
