Possible Causes

Faulty start/pause button on keypad, Basket not detected as inserted, Door/basket microswitch failure, Control board input failure

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug before internal checks.

  • Step 1 – Confirm basket seating: Remove and firmly reinsert the basket/drawer. Ensure it is fully closed and latched.
  • Step 2 – Try other buttons: If other buttons (temperature, time) respond but start does not, the start key on the keypad may be faulty.
  • Step 3 – Check basket switch: Access the basket detection microswitch and test continuity when the basket is inserted. Replace the basket detection microswitch if it does not close.
  • Step 4 – Inspect keypad connection: Reseat the keypad ribbon cable on the control interface board and main PCB.
  • Step 5 – Replace keypad or board: If the start button is physically worn or unresponsive, replace the control interface board / keypad. If the keypad is good but the board does not register the command, replace the main control PCB.
