Possible Causes
Open or damaged NTC temperature sensor, Broken sensor wiring harness, Loose connector on control board, Failed main control PCB sensor input
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the air fryer and allow it to cool completely for at least 30 minutes before opening any panels.
- Step 1 – Power reset: Unplug the Cosori air fryer for 5–10 minutes, then plug it back in and try a short cook cycle. Sometimes E1 is triggered by a transient fault.
- Step 2 – Inspect the sensor wiring: Remove the basket and look into the cooking cavity. The temperature sensor (NTC probe) is usually mounted near the heating element at the top. Check for visibly broken, burnt, or hanging wires.
- Step 3 – Access the top cover: With the unit unplugged, remove the screws on the top or rear housing (varies by model). Carefully lift the cover to access the heating assembly and sensor wiring harness.
- Step 4 – Check connectors: Locate the small two-wire harness from the temperature sensor to the main control PCB. Ensure the plug is fully seated and not corroded or burnt. Reseat the connector firmly.
- Step 5 – Test the sensor (for advanced users): Using a multimeter set to resistance, disconnect the sensor and measure across its two leads. A typical NTC will show a resistance in the kilo-ohm range at room temperature. An open (infinite) reading indicates a failed sensor.
- Step 6 – Replace faulty parts: If the sensor is open or the wiring is damaged, replace the temperature sensor / NTC probe assembly. If the sensor tests good but E1 persists, the main control PCB may have a failed sensor input and should be replaced.
- When to stop: If you smell burnt plastic, see charred wiring, or are not comfortable working around mains wiring, stop and contact a qualified appliance technician or Cosori support.
