Possible Causes

Faulty basket-in microswitch, Misaligned basket not fully seated, Broken actuator tab on basket or housing, Loose switch wiring to control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the air fryer before internal inspection.

  • Step 1 – Reseat basket: Remove the basket and drawer completely, then slide them back in firmly until you hear or feel a click. Ensure no food debris is blocking the rails.
  • Step 2 – Inspect actuator tab: Look at the side or bottom of the basket/drawer for a small plastic tab that presses the internal switch. If broken or worn, the switch may not engage; the basket assembly may need replacement.
  • Step 3 – Locate basket switch: With the unit unplugged, remove the side or bottom cover to access the basket detection microswitch. It is usually near the front where the basket slides in.
  • Step 4 – Test switch: Press the switch lever by hand; you should hear a distinct click. Use a multimeter to test continuity when pressed. If no continuity, replace the switch.
  • Step 5 – Check wiring: Ensure the switch wires are firmly connected to the main control PCB and not broken or pinched.
  • Step 6 – Replace parts: Replace the basket detection microswitch if faulty. If the basket tab is broken, replace the basket/drawer assembly.
  • Do not bypass switch: Bypassing the safety switch can allow operation with the basket removed and is a burn/fire hazard.
