Possible Causes
Failed basket-in-place microswitch, Misaligned basket latch, Broken plastic actuator on drawer, Loose switch wiring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the air fryer before inspecting the basket switch mechanism.
- Check basket insertion: Remove and firmly reinsert the basket/drawer, ensuring it is fully seated and latched. Try pressing slightly inward on the handle while starting a cycle.
- Inspect latch and rails: Look for bent rails, warped plastic, or debris preventing the drawer from closing fully. Clean the rails and latch area.
- Locate the basket switch: With the unit unplugged, remove the outer shell to access the front frame. Find the small microswitch that is actuated by the basket or a plastic lever.
- Test the switch: Manually press the switch and listen for a click. Use a multimeter to check continuity when pressed. If no continuity or no click, replace the basket detection microswitch.
- Check actuator: Ensure the plastic tab or lever that presses the switch is not broken. Replace the front frame or actuator piece if damaged.
