Possible Causes

Clogged rear exhaust vents, Failed exhaust temperature sensor (if equipped), Fan speed too low, Excessive grease buildup in exhaust path

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug and allow the unit to cool completely. Exhaust components can be very hot.

  • Clear vents: Inspect the rear and side exhaust vents. Remove any dust, grease, or obstructions with a soft brush and vacuum.
  • Clean interior thoroughly: Remove basket and accessories. Clean the interior walls, heater guard, and especially the upper rear area where exhaust air flows.
  • Check fan performance: Start a low-temperature cycle (if possible) and feel for strong airflow from the exhaust. Weak airflow suggests a failing fan motor or blocked duct.
  • Inspect exhaust sensor (if present): Some Crux models have a second sensor near the exhaust. With the unit unplugged, locate and test this sensor for proper resistance. Replace if open/shorted.
  • If E12 continues: The control board may be misreading temperature or the fan may be underpowered and require replacement.
