Possible Causes

Shorted NTC temperature sensor, Sensor wires pinched against metal chassis, Moisture or oil contamination on sensor connector, Failed main control PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power and allow the unit to cool fully before inspection. Avoid touching the heating element or internal metal parts while hot.

  • Reset and clean: Unplug for 10 minutes. Remove the basket and drawer and wipe any oil or moisture from the interior, especially near the rear air outlet where the sensor may be located.
  • Inspect sensor wiring: Open the housing. Locate the NTC sensor near the heater. Check if the wires are crushed between panels or touching sharp metal edges. Free the wires and insulate with high-temperature sleeving if needed.
  • Check for corrosion: Disconnect the sensor plug from the PCB and inspect for oil, moisture, or green/white corrosion. Clean gently with isopropyl alcohol and a soft brush, let dry completely, then reconnect.
  • Measure resistance: With the sensor unplugged and the fryer disconnected from mains, measure resistance across the sensor leads. A reading near 0 Ω indicates a shorted sensor. Replace the sensor if shorted or if resistance is far outside the expected range for room temperature.
  • Replace sensor or board: If a new sensor does not clear E2, the control PCB's sensor circuit is likely damaged and the main control PCB should be replaced.
