Possible Causes
Corrupted firmware on main PCB, Loose ribbon cable between display board and main board, Failed microcontroller, Moisture ingress on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before opening the control panel.
- Power cycle: Unplug the air fryer for at least 10 minutes to allow capacitors to discharge, then plug back in and test. This can clear transient MCU faults.
- Dry out moisture: If the unit was recently cleaned with excessive water or used under a range hood with heavy steam, let it sit unplugged in a dry, warm room for 24 hours, then retry.
- Check control connections: Remove the control panel cover. Inspect the ribbon cable or harness between the display/touch board and the main control PCB. Reseat connectors firmly.
- Inspect for corrosion: Look for white/green corrosion or sticky residue on the control PCB. Light contamination can sometimes be cleaned with isopropyl alcohol and a soft brush; severe corrosion usually requires board replacement.
- Replace control PCB: If E9 persists after reseating cables and drying, the main control PCB is likely defective and should be replaced.
