Safety first: Unplug before internal checks.

Verify preheat: Allow the air fryer to preheat for several minutes before adding food.
Check basket load: Avoid overloading; cook in smaller batches to allow air circulation.
Test temperature: Use an oven thermometer placed in the basket to compare actual temperature to the set temperature. Large discrepancies suggest a sensor or heater issue.
Inspect heater and fan: Ensure the heater glows (if visible) and the fan runs strongly. Replace a weak heater or fan motor as needed.
Check sensor placement: Make sure the NTC sensor is properly attached to its mounting point and not hanging in a cooler area.

Food is undercooked or takes much longer than recipe times, even at maximum temperature.
