Possible Causes
Worn fan motor bearings, Fan blade rubbing against guard, Loose mounting screws on fan or heater assembly, Foreign object in fan housing
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug and allow to cool. Do not run the unit with severe mechanical noise.
- Check for loose items: Remove basket and drawer. Look for screws, food pieces, or foil that may have entered the fan area.
- Spin fan manually: With the unit unplugged, gently spin the fan through the guard. Listen for grinding or scraping. If it contacts the guard, adjust or reseat the guard and tighten mounting screws.
- Inspect motor mounts: Open the housing and check that the fan motor and heater bracket screws are tight.
- Replace motor if noisy: If the noise is from internal motor bearings (rough feel when spinning by hand), replace the convection fan motor assembly.
