Possible Causes

Open heating element, Failed heater relay on control board, Burned wiring or loose spade connector on heater, Blown thermal cutoff in series with heater

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the air fryer and let it cool fully before opening.

  • Step 1 – Visual inspection: Remove the cover to access the heating element. Look for broken coils, burn marks, or disconnected wires at the element terminals.
  • Step 2 – Check wiring: Ensure all spade connectors on the heating element, thermal fuse, and thermostat are tight and not oxidized. Reseat any loose connectors.
  • Step 3 – Test the heating element: With a multimeter, measure resistance across the element terminals. A typical element will show low resistance (tens of ohms). An open circuit indicates a failed element.
  • Step 4 – Test safety devices: Check continuity through any thermal fuses or thermostats in series with the heater. Replace any open devices with identical-rated parts.
  • Step 5 – Control board relay: If the element and safety devices test good but the heater never energizes, the heater relay on the main control board may be defective. Replace the board if the relay is not switching when heat is commanded.

Do not attempt to repair a cracked or broken heating element; it must be replaced as a complete assembly.
