Possible Causes
Seized convection fan motor, Fan blade obstructed by debris, Failed fan motor winding, Loose or burned fan motor connector on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the air fryer. Blades can be sharp; avoid contact with edges.
- Step 1 – Check for obstruction: Look through the interior at the convection fan. Remove the basket or racks and inspect for food pieces, foil, or grease buildup blocking the fan. Clean thoroughly.
- Step 2 – Spin test: With the unit unplugged, gently try to spin the fan blade by hand. It should rotate freely. If it is stiff or jammed, the motor bearings may be seized.
- Step 3 – Access the fan motor: Remove the rear or top panel to expose the convection fan motor. Inspect wiring and connectors for heat damage or looseness.
- Step 4 – Electrical test: Use a multimeter to check continuity of the motor windings. An open circuit indicates a failed motor.
- Step 5 – Replace motor: If the motor is seized or electrically open, replace the convection fan motor assembly. Transfer the fan blade if it is not included with the new motor.
- Step 6 – Control board check: If the motor tests good but never receives voltage when the unit runs, the fan driver circuit on the main control board may be faulty and the board should be replaced.
