Possible Causes

Partially open heating element reducing wattage, High resistance connection at heater terminal, Failing relay contacts on PCB, NTC sensor misreading high temperature and cycling heater off early

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug and cool the unit before opening. Use caution around sharp metal edges inside the housing.

Steps:

  • 1. Compare performance: Preheat the fryer empty at maximum temperature for 5–10 minutes. Check if the cavity becomes very hot and if the exhaust air is strongly hot. If only mildly warm, suspect heater issues.
  • 2. Inspect heater terminals: Remove the top cover and check for discoloration or charring at the heater connections. Clean and tighten or replace terminals as needed.
  • 3. Measure heater resistance: Compare measured resistance to the specification for your Daewoo model. A significantly higher resistance than normal indicates a weakened element.
  • 4. Check relay contacts (advanced): On the PCB, inspect the heater relay for signs of overheating. Pitted or burned contacts can reduce power. Replace the relay or entire PCB if damaged.
  • 5. Verify sensor placement: Ensure the NTC sensor is firmly attached to the cavity or bracket as designed. A sensor hanging in free air may read hotter than the food area and shut the heater off prematurely.
