Air fryer stops heating and displays E2 after a short time of operation.
Safety Warning
This repair may involve working with high voltage components or water connections. Always unplug the appliance before removing any panels.
If you are not confident in your ability to perform this repair safely, we strongly recommend contacting a professional technician.
Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the Daewoo air fryer from power and let it cool fully. Work on a dry, stable surface.
Steps to diagnose:
- 1. Basic reset: Unplug for 10 minutes, then plug back in and test. If E2 reappears quickly, proceed.
- 2. Access the sensor: Remove the top or rear cover to expose the heating chamber and wiring. Locate the NTC sensor mounted near the heater or on the inner wall.
- 3. Inspect for pinched or melted wires: Look where the sensor cable passes through metal or near the fan. If insulation is cut and wires touch the metal chassis or each other, this can cause a short. Repair or replace the harness using high-temp wire.
- 4. Clean the connector: Disconnect the sensor plug from the PCB. Wipe any oil, grease, or moisture from the connector with a dry cloth or isopropyl alcohol. Allow to dry fully and reconnect.
- 5. Measure resistance: With the sensor unplugged, measure resistance across its leads. A reading near 0 Ω indicates a shorted sensor. Replace the sensor assembly if shorted.
- 6. Check PCB for damage: If the sensor measures normally but E2 persists, inspect the PCB around the sensor input for burnt resistors or ICs. Board-level repair is advanced; replacing the control PCB is usually more practical.
Note: Do not bypass or short the sensor to clear the error; this disables temperature safety and can cause fire.
